Rules & Expectations

Attendance

  • Students are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances when called.

    • Ensemble members are permitted up to 5 excused absences.

    • Lead actors are permitted up to 3 excused absences due to their heavier role responsibilities..

  • All absences must be communicated in advance and approved by the directors.

    • Students in grades 5–8 are responsible for emailing the directors directly to notify them of an absence.

  • Excessive absences or unexcused no-shows may result in removal from scenes, roles, or the production.

Conduct & Focus

  • Students must maintain a quiet and respectful environment during rehearsals to ensure everyone can focus and work efficiently.

  • Students are expected to listen attentively and respond promptly to all directions from the directors.

  • Phones, sports balls, toys, and any other distractions must be placed in backpacks at the start of rehearsal and remain there.

  • There should be no running, ball-playing, or similar activities once a student has entered the gym.

  • Ongoing behavioral issues will result in a meeting with Mr. Andrew Lowry and a reevaluation of the student’s role in the program.

  • Avoid any disruptive or unauthorized activities that may interfere with the rehearsal.

Designated Area

  • While not actively rehearsing, students must remain in the old gym, and should not leave without permission from the directors.

Props, Sets, and Costumes

  • Under no circumstances should students touch props, sets, or costumes without proper authorization from the directors.

  • If a student causes any damage to a prop, set piece, or costume, their parent/guardian will be held financially responsible for repair or replacement costs. Please report any accidental damage to the directors immediately.

Bullying Prevention and Respect

  • TAP has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying in any form. All students are expected to treat each other with kindness & respect. If you witness or experience bullying, report it to a trusted adult or the directors immediately.
